7 CEO’s Saving The World

There’s always a lot going on in the world, and one of the issues we face as a planet, is global warming and climate change.

In 2015 we saw the climate change pass the 1 degree C point of warming since pre-industrial times!

The top large “Big 10” food companies cause more greenhouse emissions than the country of Scandinavia, and by 2050 there could be an additional 50 million people on the planet who will be starving.

Shocking and astounding facts.

It would seem the planet needs a superhero, someone to fly down and rescue us from ourselves.

And fortunately for us, we do and not just one superhero, but we have seven (7) of them. These superheroes come in the form of CEO’s of large companies, who are not just “going green” to make money, but to save the world.

Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos is the CEO of Amazon, which started out selling books online, and now is the largest e-commerce and online retailer in the world. If Amazon doesn’t sell it, you probably don’t need it.

Project: Jeff’s project is General Fusion. The goal of this company is to provide cheap, clean and abundant power to everyone.

Basically by providing clean and affordable energy it will aid in the cleaning up of the air and environment. In addition to benefiting the poorer parts of the world.

George Soros

Mr. Soros is the Chairman of Soros Fund Management, which is said to be one of the “most profitable firms in the hedge fund industry.”

Project: George’s project is Open Society Foundations, which deals with human rights and politics.

The foundation provides legal aid to people unlawfully detained or imprisoned around the world.

The organisation began by providing scholarships to black students in Apartheid-era south Africa, and also supporting political dissidents in the Eastern Bloc.

Elon Musk

Elon Musk is CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX.

Tesla Motors is an auto mobile manufacture that builds cars that run on electricity, or batteries.

They also sell other battery products and energy storage devices. Using electricity and batteries in cars drastically reduces emissions and helps the environment.

SpaceX is a company that is looking to reduce the costs of space travel, and is also looking at colonising the planet Mars.

Project: Mr. Musk’s project is Open AI, which is said to look into any potential threats to mankind by AI or artificial intelligence. Professor Stephen Hawking has called AI a huge threat to mankind in the future.

The company is hoping this information will improve technology and problem-solving.

Lauren Bush

Lauren Bush, besides being the granddaughter of George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, she is also the CEO of Feed, which is her project.

Feed is a social enterprise that is aimed at creating ethical products that help feed the world.

Mr. Bhargave has stated, “Everything requires energy. Energy is the great equaliser.” He plans to give away 10,000 bikes next year to India.

Overall they are looking to improve the health and well being of those with chronic illnesses, so they can have a more productive and better life.

To quote Manoj Bhargava, “There is an old story about a blind man heading towards a well, and there is a guy who’s watching. If the blind man falls into the well, who gets the blame? If you are watching something that you can prevent, you’ve got to do something”
